Why We Don't Use Zoom

Let me start by saying I don't dislike Zoom, in fact, Zoom is great for board meetings, client meetings, and I do use Zoom from time to time. However, for the delicate nature of funeral streaming, its not the best choice for us. What we offer is one-way streaming though a dedicated streaming platform. For a regular user of Zoom, installing the app, turning on and off microphones and cameras can come very easy, but for a novice, especially the older generations, these tasks don't always come easy. We have found our website to be user friendly, no apps to install, simply click the link and press play.

But with Zoom, cant we use two-way streaming?

Two-way streaming during a funeral is really not possible to accomplish smoothly. On the funeral end, you would need professional A/V teams with very large TV's and audio equipment, and on the other end, there is no way to monitor/help discreetly. We have seen many services where families try to use Zoom or a phone to have someone in a remote location say a few words and it never works well, often with delays and issues on both ends.
